Here's a quick little project I made the other day:

I like things to be organized and believe that everything needs to have a "home". My son who going on 3 soon, was the hugest fan of "The Wiggles" from the time he was a year old. Thankfully when he turned 2, he branched out to other shows as well. But he's still a fan of theirs. Anyways, he has a little puzzle and it's box didn't last too long. It needed a home, so I decided to decorate up a box to hold it...

The finished project:
The little gift box was something I picked up from a clearance table at Michael's recently for 37 cents. I thought it had some crafting potential.
I found 4 pieces of scrapbook paper scraps from my stash in the 4 Wiggles colours and cut them to fit the sides of the box.
I used some glue and Mod Podge to adhere them.
And then I inked some of the edges...
I cut some strips to go on the sides of the lid and then covered the top of the lid.
My son had a Wiggles birthday party when he turned 2 and since it is so hard to find Wiggles stuff here, I saved some of the packaging that has their logo. So I cut a few pieces from that and sanded up the edges.
Then glued those down on the box.
It took me less than 10 minutes to make and my son was soooo excited! He loves when I make things for him!!

Obviously I know that the chances are slim that anyone reading this is going to make a Wiggles box of their own, but I share this to show how easy it is to make something over with a bit of scrapbook paper and some Mod Podge. And with the crazy week I've had, it felt good to make a few little quick projects. In my mind, that is better than nothing at all.

Happy crafting :)

  1. This is such a great idea. I wish puzzle boxes were more damage proof along with some board games.
