fabric flowers- sewn by hand

Here's a tutorial to show you how to make these PRETTY fabric flowers:

Trace circles onto the back of your fabric. The number will depend on how many petals you want your flowers to have. {I made a 5-petal flower, but think 6 would be really nice, too.}

Cut them out.

Take your first circle and fold it in half. {The good sides facing out.}

And in half again.

Stitch along the bottom {the rounded side}.

And gently pull your thread:

Do the same with the other petals, added them as you go along:
Until you have them all attached:

Then tie a knot in that end. Join the knot from the beginning and the knot you tied in the string at the end and tie them together. Add some stitches to where the ends are joined if necessary.

I made a twisty flower for the center. {That tutorial can be found HERE.}

I used my hot glue gun to add it to the center.

Then added a felt circle to the back so it looks tidy.

Hope you try these out. They're so fun & easy to make!!

  9. As soon as I saw "hand sewn" flowers, I became a follower. I wanted to do a project like this but I only saw ones that used sewing machines, which I don't have.
    I'm visiting via "the girl creative." So glad I came by!
