the simple things- week #3

This weekend we went to a family reunion in southern Alberta for my mother-in-law's side. The drive on Friday SHOULD have taken us 6 hours. Instead, my 15 month old daughter got extremely car sick and threw up lots. With the delays of her being sick and the basic realities of travelling with 2 young kids, it took us 9 hours to get to our destination.

My daughter's asthma was also acting up big time. And just being away from home is hard.

Before the reunion on Saturday we spent some time in Waterton. My husband was able to take our 3 and a half year old son up the Bear's Hump. I just love this picture of them at the top....

Although it would have been WAY easier to stay home, I am so happy that we were able to go and visit with family at the reunion. Family is so important to us.... and definitely worth the effort!!

  1. Isn't that always the way it goes. It is so great that you can still appreciate your family time, even with long drives and a sick toddler. Such is life!!
