DIY Lego Table

I put together this Lego table for my kids and it was super-easy!

I bought a Lack side table from Ikea. I chose a white one, but they have other colours, including red or yellow or green that would be cute. (price is in Canadian Dollars)

After putting it together...

All I did was measure out where the centre was so I would have the boards straight and in the middle, with a little border of the table around the edges. I just used my hot glue gun to add on the boards and they are stuck on good!

My kids had a few different types of Lego storage containers, but in the interest of space saving & a simple look, I bought this awesome bin to go underneath. It's a Vessla bin from Ikea. I have a few of these in our play room in other colours (green, blue, pink). They have casters on the bottom to move & a lid (sold separately). I love them for toys!

This now lives in our living room...

My kids of course loved it and play Lego every day. And it {mostly} stays on the table! Stepping on Lego hurts!

DIY Painted Ikea Kids Table

For my daughter's 2nd birthday, I made-over an Ikea table for her, as she loves tea parties.

I got this small table that came with 2 chairs (price is in Canadian Dollars).

I bought a set of Martha Stewart paint at Michael's that had some pretty colours I loved and painted it all...

*Note: I already had one chair from this set in case you are wondering how I managed to get 3 chairs!

I chose yellow for the table, pink for one daughter, purple for my other daughter, and blue for my son so they each have a chair, just for them!

I added on cute letting stickers onto the back of each chair & put some Mod Podge over to keep them from peeling off. I bought some flower vinyl stickers from the dollar store to add onto the top.

She loved it when I gave it to her on her birthday and my kids use it each and every day!

Play Clothes Board {trash to treasure}

Today I just have a simple DIY project to share......

This was a project I made when there was still snow on the ground!

I had this kitchen cabinet drawer front:

All I did was paint it white. Then I added the knobs to hang my kids' dress up clothes on. (A package of 6 knobs was $1.99 from Ikea!) I had my husband screw it into the wall. I just added white screw covers over the screws. That thing it not going anywhere!

It's hanging with a picture frame/mirror that was white until I spray-painted it aqua blue.
And the white frame was originally black. I painted it & added in some bright, fun alphabet scrapbook paper.

Such a simple set of things hanging together that cost me next-to-nothing to make!

This is a fun little area in the playroom for my kids!

tour of my house--stuff on the walls!

I went around my house & took photos of most of my fave things hanging on the wall.
Most are things that I made, but some were also gifts.

For the things I made, I'll share a link to the post on my blog about that specific thing.

Let's start upstairs & work our way down!

Shelf in my daughter's room. I love the white & pink stuff there all together. {I posted about her room when she was a new baby. It's different now, maybe I'll share what it looks like now sometime.}

Another fave thing in her room is her pink mirror that I bought from Home Sense- {like Home Goods in the US}. I still love it & she likes checking herself out in it :)

And this little bird I made for her wall was a cutting board I found on clearance at Urban Outfitters. I just painted it pink & mod podged scrapbook paper on it!

I love this hair clip board that hold just some of my daughter's large collection of hair accessories. The hook underneath is from Urban Outfitters.

My dad made me this wall hanging of the "Be's" & I love it. And it reminds me constantly of how grateful I am to have parents with such strong faith.

Collection of white picture frames in the hallway upstairs- The one with the yellow mat has a picture of both our kids at one month old. So fun to see them as babies & to see the similarities! The "W" printable was something that Lizzy at Pickle Doodle Designs made for me!

Our house is all painted in neutral colours- except our son's room. His room is a bright blue colour & his room is totally boy & very colourful! {His room is also different from the original post & maybe I should share how it looks now sometime.}

I made this pencil crayon initial that hangs above his dresser:

This handsome mirror was one of the first things I made for his room & it was also my very first feature! I was so excited when it was featured on Tip Junkie back when I shared my crafts on our family blog!

I also made this "I Am A Child of God" wall hanging. (My hubby cut the material for me & rounded the edges, then I painted it & added the vinyl words.)

My brother gave this "Love" board to me one year for my birthday, shortly after I got married. It's hung in each home we've lived in & it makes me happy :)

I still of course love my DIY jewelry holder. It hold all my everyday-type necklaces & my 'real' jewelry lives in my jewelry boxes.

Another fave in my bedroom are my heart map shadowbox frames:

Near our front entrance is this shelf, with my DIY fabric-covered bulletin board:

In our main floor hallway, we have this board that I made in December to hold our stockings. I had a glittery star in the centre. It ended up staying put 'cause it's just so handy.

This drawer front was in our basement waiting for me to re-purpose it somehow...

I just added some knobs onto it...

And I let my husband hang it up. My son LOVES hanging things on it. It's a great home for our bag of library stuff!

By our computer desk, we have this pair of Ikea frames that contain the first picture our kids each made. Both were done when they were the same age. So I added a Jenni Bowlin sticker on each of them with theirs name & age on it.

In our dining room we have this shelf that has some family photos that we love. That large family picture is a year & a half old- I need to update it!

Now down to the basement!

In December my husband finished making a room down there that serves as the kids' play room & also has my craft stuff. {Another thing to post about sometime!}

Anyways, I love this collage frame my parents gave us for Christmas one year. So perfect for displaying some fave family photos!

Above my craft area, I have these canvases. I love Dr. Seuss quotes! And the canvases I did of the kids' hand prints last summer are so precious to me.

I love this built-in shelf area. It houses some containers of books that were overflow from the kids' rooms. It's also great for a few decorative items!
I scored the yellow & blue lanterns at the end of last summer. Superstore marked them down from $8 each to $0.44 a piece!

I also have the blue Walt Disney quote printable, as well as a Winnie the Pooh quote I found on Pinterest.

There you have it!
I hope you enjoyed the tour through my home of my favourite things on the walls!

Framed Glitter Hearts

Hey! Here's a simple little project I made last week for Valentine's Day....

{It's the same idea as the Framed Easter Egg Art I made last Easter!}

I picked up the heart picks from a dollar store. Each package was $1.25.

And I had this Ikea frame sitting & waiting to be used!

I stuck in a piece of white cardstock...

And then started cutting the foam glitter hearts in half with a serrated kitchen knife, on a cutting board.

Tip: cut through the heart slowly & use a back & forth saw motion to get a clean cut and avoid pieces of the foam from breaking off!

Then I just started gluing the hearts in place with my glue gun!!

And then I set it up with my other Valentine's Day stuff in the living room!

With a little rearranging, I settled on this set up...

I love the pink stuff I get to put out for Valentine's Day!

Using a few of the left over hearts, I quickly whipped up this little version for the bathroom...

{The frame was also from Ikea}

I love it!
