And here are some answers to questions I have been asked recently.....
Q:What is one crafting skill that you have yet to master and that you hope to learn someday?
A: I would love to learn to knit and crochet. I just have so many things on my to-craft list right now that I don't feel ready to jump into a brand new skill quite yet.
Q:What's your favorite thing about blogging?
A: Well I started blogging 3 years ago as a way to share pictures and updates with family and friends. After a while, I started posting scrapbook pages and craft projects, too. Ultimately I decided that I needed to have a separate home for my creative stuff & that's when I started this blog. I love that through my family blog that I am able to keep family updated on what we're doing. And that I have a record of our life. It's more of a journal to me now. I have referred to it as I update baby books or add journalling to a scrapbook page.
With this craft blog, I love that I have a home for all the crafty things I do. I am overwhelmed that I have as many followers as I do. It's awesome that you are interested to come and check out my latest project.
I have "met" so many creative women that inspire me! I love that in this blog world that we can share projects that inspire each other and that by leaving a simple comment, we could be making some one's day. With the "stats" tab for this blog, it's amazing to see that MOST of the visitors to this blog don't even live in the same country as me! Pretty cool :)
Q:How do you find time to craft and blog when you have young kids?
A: Ummm... I am just like all the other moms out there with craft blogs I imagine. My kids come first. This blog is just for fun. That's why I don't have any current desire to charge for ad spots or anything like that. With that being said, I can be kind of sporadic in when I post. I craft and scrapbook when I have time. And I blog when I have time. I like not feeling obligated to post here because I think that would take some of the fun away if this began to feel like work.
Q: Did you create your new blog design?
A: No. My blog's new look is courtesy of Mike & Maryanne's blog designs!
..................................................................
With my scrapbooking now, I still want to "catch up" my kids' albums and keep our family albums up to date. This year I am doing Project Life again. I really missed doing it last year, but thought it would be too hard to keep it up with a new baby.
Anyways, when my kit arrived last Wednesday I worked throughout the day as I was able to & completed the first 2 months! How cool is it that I was able to document 2 months of pictures easily in one day AND it was a fairly busy day.
I love the concept of the kit where everything is ready for the photos and the story. Everything is coordinated. But most of all I love how it makes me look at things a bit differently. The little everyday moments get documented. I take more meaningful pictures and I take pictures of simple moments and things that would otherwise be forgotten. I can't wait to get my photos from this year into an album, too! :)
Anyways, here's a taste of what my pages look like. I love remembering how little my son was 2 years ago and reading through the stories I recorded. (BTW I have a separate blog where I organize my pictures and the journalling which gives me an easy reference as I work on my album.)
Anyone else doing the Project Life thing this year??
I'm not doing a project life thing, but it sounds fun. Thanks for a great post.
