doll house art canvas

I am slowly making over the doll house I had as a child for my daughter. I just do a little something here or there as inspiration hits. It's in the basement and I want to have it in her room by the time she turns 3... so I have a couple years! :)

Anyways, I found a cute miniature wood art canvas at the dollar store a couple months ago for $1.00. So I painted the wood part of the canvas pink, then added on a picture of my daughter from back in November. I used a sketch action in a photo program to make it look like an artist sketch...

Here are the supplies I used. (Because the photo wasn't as wide as my canvas, I decided to use a little grey paint on the canvas before adding my photo with Mod Podge.)

I love the personal touch this adds. I will probably put it near the doll cradle in the house. You could easily add a regular photo, some patterned scrapbook paper, or just about anything on the canvas!!

You can see all the wood trim and yellow walls that I have yet to make-over in this doll house. It's about 20 years old and it survived me and my 2 younger sisters. I have big plans for it!!

  1. That's such a tiny little easel! How cool that your daughter get's to play with the same play house you did?! I never would have thought to remodel it. Can't wait to see the rest!

Thanks for linking up to FFA!
