Nativity blocks

Here's an easy and inexpensive project that I made for my kids this Christmas season....

My husband cut 26 blocks for me out of some scrap wood 2 by 6 pieces. I gave him the dimensions I wanted for the 4 different sizes and how many I needed for each size.

Then came the time consuming part! I sanded them, primed them, then gave them 2-3 coats of white paint.

I had 2 different pages of Nativity scrapbook stickers, so I was able to make 2 sets for my kids. I told my son that one is for him and the other will be for his sister (when she's older next year.) But for now he plays with both sets! :)

Here's Set A:

and here's SET B:

They're a great way to teach about WHY we actually celebrate Christmas. They are durable and just fun for my son. He likes to rearrange them!

  2. So cute! That's great to have for the kids to play with. I need a set that my son can play with to help him understand the true meaning of Christmas too.

  4. Oh my goodness! I just saw this idea a few days ago and was telling my 19 year old daughter about them. I think we are going to try to make her a block nativity to put away until she's married.

I found your blog on The Trendy Treehouse's Friendly Friday Blog Hop and I'm so glad I did. I, too, am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. However, I live in the United States, not Canada. :)
